Neville Chamberlain is an excellent example of a leader following a course of
action-- that was popular at the time--that resulted in disastrous
consequences.

Churchill said that the Western Allies could have had either their honor or
peace. After Munich, Churchill said that the Allies would have neither their
honor nor peace.

In my opinion, world oil production has peaked, or will peak very
shortly--and then start a decline that we will never recover from. Countries
like Iraq with significant reserves will become increasingly powerful as oil
prices climb even further. I think that Bush's nightmare scenario is an
ever more powerful Saddam Hussein--with the cash flow to buy all the weapons
he wants--who would inevitably gain control of the Middle East. Imagine
Hitler with nuclear weapons AND with control of the Western World's oil
supply. Remember that Hussein has already used weapons of mass destruction
on adjoining countries and on his own people.
