[Culturechat] East Europeans to Declare Support for Bush on Iraq

I think that the level of support for the U.S. among the general population 
in Europe is a lot higher than most Americans have been led to believe.   

Case in point.  Many nonpartisan German  analysts believe that Schroeder's 
position on Iraq hurt him badly in the recent election.  Following is a 
direct quote from a recent Reuters news item:  ". . . analysts said the 
chancellor's stance on Iraq might cost him his job."

Support for the U.S. is even more pronounced in Eastern Europe--where they 
have fresh memories of what it is like to live under a totalitarian 
dictatorship.
