[Culturechat] retirement in CH

Hi Vance:

The volunteerism concept spreading throughout the world is interesting. Here
in Marin County CA, the county offices have a very large percentage of
volunteers.  I am told there would be a major budget over run if these
positions were salaried.  These volunteers are administered by a very
efficient (salaried) staff, and have their own newsletter.   Also, not all
are over 65.  Some are asked to become salaried and refuse.  They want the
freedom and "no performance reviews".  Ha!  Joan.
