[Culturechat] Coffee price hike protest

A few days ago, I sent a message about a proposed 15% rise in a cup of 
coffee here in CH. As expected the fit has hit the shan on this.

A consumer price protection group and a union organization have 
denounced this rise as "scandalous". Of that half CHF rise they say 20 
Rappen are needed to cover the rise in salaries for service personnel, 
and the other 30 Rappen will go into the owner's pockets.

The Swiss Cafe Organization has quickly back tracked on their initial 
statement and said that the 15% rise was their highest figure. Actually, 
they expect most prices will rise only 5 to 10 %.

The jawboning continues.
