That familiar phrase from “Field of Dreams” represented the collective
dreams of a key group of Wilmingtonians who envisioned the 

Wilmington Blue Rocks born again on the Wilmington Riverfront.  Their dream
was realized 25 years ago and the Blue Rocks

became the anchor of the Riverfront redevelopment. 

 Who were these key players and what were the challenges they confronted?
And equally important, who have been the key players on the field – do you
remember Carlos Beltran, Jon Lieber, and Johnny Damon?  And now, in their
25th season, what are the Blue Rocks’ plans for the future?
