Dr. Sigrid Veasey is a Professor of Medicine with tenure at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania. She is both a Sleep Medicine physician and a neuroscientist. Dr. Veasey leads an NIH-funded translational research team that has identified specific groups of neurons injured by sleep disorders such as sleep apnea and those injured by sleep disruption. Her team is now providing links between sleep loss and Alzheimer's and brain aging and working to find therapies to prevent brain injury in sleep loss.
