SUMMERBRIDGE ACADEMIC ENRICHMENT PROGRAM
Can you identify a 6th grade student in the School District of
Philadelphia (or listed charter schools) who:
--Needs/wants academic enrichment?
--Is willing to make a 2 year commitment?
--Has academic potential but may be struggling?
(NOTE: Student should have at least a "C" average, but those with
a lower average can be considered)
If so, then Summerbridge may be the program you are looking for!
Summerbridge is an academic enrichment program that recruits
students currently in the 6th grade. Students will begin participation
in the Summerbridge program the summer before 7th grade,
attending sessions for six weeks. During the 7th grade school year,
students meet twice a week for academic support. The summer
before 8th grade, students attend the 6-week summer program
and finish up with the twice weekly support during the 8th grade
school year.
During the school year transportation is provided directly from
designated schools. During the summer, transportation is provided
(usually in the form of tokens).
Summerbridge also helps participating children and parents with the
high school selection process, and provides support to the alumni
who complete the program. The program, which has 3 locations,
accepts students from the following feeder schools:
