[Idyllchat] Ticino Recommendations

Oberland hiking trails are like the autobahns of the hiking world.
Everything is a step down from there. We did 3 hikes in Ticino and while the
trails were rougher than in the Oberland/Heartland region, they weren't
terrible. I'd say they were similar in quality to Adirondak High Peaks
trails in New York only drier. The ADK does a great job of maintaining
trails in the back country. I would recommend hiking boots. They don't have
to be backpacking boots, light day hikers will work, but they should provide
ankle support. I will say that the trails were not marked as prolifically as
they are in the German parts, but anyone with experience hiking would have
no problems.

Also, anyone familiar with the "Wanderweg" signs should be away that they
say "Sentiere" in Ticino - that Italian language thing. For those unfamiliar
with what I'm talking about, they hiking trails are called "Wanderweg" in
the German speaking parts of Switzerland and the trails are marked with
signs that say this. The Italian word for hiking trail is "Sentiere". The
trails in Ticino are marked with this.
