[Idyllchat] cell phones

Amen to that.

And I would add to that never again seeing people who dial the cell phone immediately before putting the keys in the ignition switch and who then, one-handed, back out of a shopping center parking space with kids in the back while holding a conversation. Accidents waiting to happen.

I think Dennis has a strong grip. To be sure, I carry a mobile phone almost everywhere, but its convenience is something I would happily forgo in exchange for never again having to listen to strangers in airports, stores, elevators, on the street, and soon I fear in the seat next to me on a long flight, broadcast, for all the world to hear, the banal details of their personal and business lives.
