Vance:  Most likely you have already looked up the Paris Metro-RATP map 
online, but just in case, here is the link:

It comes up in an Acrobat form that you can enlarge enough to read it 
easily.  Looks as if Line E (light purple color line) runs from Tournan 
on the east to Haussman-St.Lazare on the west.  I can't tell if you can 
walk through tunnels to the Line E station from Gare d'Est or if you 
might have to do a short run up to Gare de Nord to connect to it.

Of course there is always a taxi, which with luggage might be much 
easier!  It's not that far.
