[Idyllchat] Visiting Zermatt from Heartland

We stayed in Zermatt for 2 days, and I still haven't seen the Matterhorn.
There was one point when the clouds lifted a little where we could see the
bottom 2/3 of it. I snapped off a couple of pictures, then the clouds closed
in again. We were there in August 2002 when it rained in Western Europe for
the entire summer. While we were walking through town, the temperature
dropped from 10° C to 0° C and it started to snow. In August. Even the Swiss
were puzzled. We still managed to have an amazing trip. Saw the glacier on
the west face of the Eiger through a 15 minute break in the clouds. Hiking
through the clouds with cow and sheep bells going off around you was
actually kind of cool even if you couldn't see very far. We had one hike
above Grindelwald on the Falhorn where we were walking through the clouds,
and cows came out of the mist.

With all our trials on that trip (I didn't get to ski because of the white
out conditions), I would still recommend going to Zermatt if you can work it
in.
