[Idyllchat] Barcelona Hotel

We spent a week in Barcelona in 2003 and stayed at the Gran Via Hotel, which was reasonable at that time.  It is a short distance from the Ramblas and a lovely hotel.  We got a bus from the airport and walked a couple of blocks.
    Our triplog for Spain 2003 is there with all the info, I think.  The desk clerk recommended TXAPELA, a tapas restaurant 2 blocks away  for lunch --very good.  We also enjoyed Gardunya at the end of the market.  Siete Portes was delicious --the best profiteroles!  Bill and I split our orders.  There was a supermarket near the hotel.  Sometimes we bought bread, cheese and wine and ate in the hotel courtyard at night.
   We would love to return to Barcelona.
