Our summer 2007 Heartland Untour cost is summarized as follows:

$5,078 ... Untour itself
1,920 CHF ... meals, coop, lifts, cash, one hotel

At the then exchange rate of about $0.84/CHF, the 1,920 CHF spent in Switzerland converts to $1,613 

$5,078 + $1,613 = $6,691 ... total cost of 2007 Untour

Repeating the 2007 Heartland Untour in 2008 would cost (neglecting inflation in Switzerland)

$5,278 ... Untour itself
1,920 CHF ... meals, coop, lifts, cash, one hotel

At the present exchange rate of about $1.00/CHF, the 1,920 CHF spent in Switzerland converts to $1,920

$5,278 + $1,920 = $7,198 ... estimated total cost of 2008 Untour

Thus, we figure that if we do a 2008 Swiss Untour in the same manner as we did the 2007 Untour, it's likely to cost roughly 500 bucks more.  

For us, at least, considerable solace is taken in the fact that, although the cost of the CHF has increased almost 20% in less than a year, because that wonderful travel company in Media PA increased the Swiss Untour price by less than 4%, it appears that the total cost of a 2008 Swiss Untour is likely to increase by less than 8%.
