[Idyllchat] Increased Cost of European Travel

Here's a little perspective for you: Back in 1973 we were planning our very first trip to Europe. People started telling us "Now's a bad time to go! The dollar is down". A British pound at that time cost $2.40. We didn't listen to them. Seeing London, Vienna, Rome, and Paris for the first time was a thrill of a lifetime!

Things are relative. Years from now you may be saying "I wish I had done my traveling in 2008!". The Euro is close to $1.60 now. Things will be tight while we're in Paris. But I'm not upset. This is a chance of a lifetime. How can we pass up the opportunity to spend a month in Paris? This is something you dream of. If we have to picnic for all our meals, we'll do it.
