[Idyllchat] ancillary travels?

Hello....

Since people are commenting on the absence of messages, this may be the time for me to ask the expderienced questions, not quite untourish. I have done one untour and, of course, it was very easy and interesting. However, I am about to retire and I don't really want to travel as in travel. I am interested in the thriftiness of Untours as a bottom line but i would also like, while staying in one place, enjoy a course or a conference or a festival of music. I have looked only a little at Elderhostel and the trips seem long (and so expensive) and maybe less planted. would you suggest simply spending time on the net looking for festivals or looking for topics? (Oh, I also hate to drive.) I did just receive a guide to monasteries and convents and in a brief look it seems there are such places that host conferences. (I also like quiet.) My questions may be too off the "walking stick" kind of commentary but it is worth a try in this down time.
