Unfortunately, the IMAX film, The Alps, is not on a schedule for my area(Oregon) for anytime soon, but I have been thoroughly enjoying the book, The White Spider :The Classic Account of the Ascent of the Eiger by Heinrich Harrer upon which, I'm sure, the film is based.  For all those, in the same situation as I am, it is an excellent read.
