[Idyllchat] archives and car rental insurance

When we had our Untours arranged rental car in Umbria two years ago we only
used the insurance coverage through the trip insurance company recommended
by Untours. At that time, that policy had a special provision that covered
insurance for Untours arranged car rental.

There was a difference between that and CDW insurance offered by the rental
car company, however. As I recall, the key difference was in the payment
timing in case of an accident. With the policy through special Untours
related policy, you would have to pay for any damages yourself and collect
from the insurance company later. Whereas the insurance through the rental
company would have no out of pocket outlay, other than a deductable. I don't
recall for sure about the deductable.

Untours had a pretty clear explanation on the differences in some of the
material that they sent us. If you don't have that yet, you could give them
a call to ask about it.
