An additional comment about Home at First services: I believe the level of support depends on where and when you are traveling. 
 
When my husand and I spent a week in Scotland arranged by HAF, we were met at the Glasgow Airport by HAF co-owner Judi who happened to be in Scotland at that time, along with our local support person Ian and another man who took our luggage and saw that we were settled in the Holiday Inn Express at the airport where we spent the night before picking up our rental car. During our stay, HAF hosted an orientation brunch; we were treated to dinner one night, and one day we were taken on a boat ride on a loch. 
 
During our second week in Yorkshire and third week in London, we were on our own, but always felt we could contact HAF if needed. Another year we spent two weeks in Devon with no contact with HAF and saw no other HAF tourists. For us, this was fine and we had a great time. 
 
Bottom line: As self-sufficient travelers, we have found the HAF system works for us. But while HAF service is similar to that of Untours, they are two separate companies doing business in different ways.

Home at First handles Britain and other areas that Untours doesn't. HAF is owned by Judi (the Taussigs' daughter) and her husband Ron, a former Untours staffer. We've used HAF twice for England and Scotland and are went well. The apartment in London (on St. Katherine's Marina) was in a great location. The site is homeatfirst.com Shelby Ruch

dear fellow untours guests
 
is anyone aware of any agency (like untours) that operates and/or provides services in england.  i am planning a trip  2009 and would like a similar plan like untours car, accommodations, airfare type of thing.  untours does not do british isles so i need to seek outside of untours, any suggestions??????????????????????????????
