Paula:  Two years ago we used the Hotel Ducale, about 2 miles from the 
airport, which was a good choice.  They have free transportation to and 
from the airport and rooms under $100.

Another thing you can do is go to www.viamichelin.com, type in Italy and 
Venezia Aeroporto Marco Polo in the map section, and click on hotels.  
The resulting map will come up with all the neighboring hotels numbered, 
which you can then click on to read complete information.  Anything with 
the address of Via Triestina  (Trieste Highway, the old highway going 
east to Trieste), will be very convenient to the airport and also on the 
busline into both the airport and Venice.
