Hi Dick,
 
I agree with Lyn and Phil.  Even tho Padua isn't far by bus from Venice, don't spend time there if your Sampler includes Rome, Florence and Venice in only two weeks.  In fact, you may not want to take any daytrips at all, in the short time you will be in each of those three cities.

        Will be on Untours Sampler in May to subject cities. Would appreciate comment, recommendations
    on following day trips from:
 
        Rome - Ostia Antica (have been to Naples and Amalfi coast)
        Florence - Lucca or Arezzo (have been to Pisa and Sienna)
        Venice - Padua (have been to Verona)
 
            Will use public transportation.
