[Idyllchat] Rome and the Gypies

I, too, had been warned and thought I was pretty savvy, but I got robbed  non 
the less.  In fact, I think we were targeted.  We had just taken  money out 
of machine on the street.  (Wouldn't do that, again.)  We  walked across the 
street and got on a train.  It was crowded.  I had a  fanny pack on, in the 
front, with my hand on it.  There was a family with  kids in front of me while we 
were standing.  Someone said, watch out for  the kids, (diversion, I now 
know).  When I got a seat I looked at my fanny  pack and was so startled to find 
that they had unzipped my pack to my hand and  lifted my wallet.  I never felt 
it!
 
So now, I never carry a wallet, because of everything is in it.  Also,  one 
traveler should carry one kind of credit card, such as a Master Card and the  
other should carry another such as a Visa.  I was carrying both and of  course, 
that led to a lot of problems as it was the weekend.
 
But, I would never, never skip Rome.  It is too fabulous!.
