Terry: I can't offer any direct information on Sirmione, but I'm
attaching a website of a hotel we stayed in at Gargnano for only one
night two or three years ago. http://www.gardalake.it/hotelgardenia/

It was a delightful small hotel right on the lakefront and at the first
of October we were almost the only guests there, but we received
delightful service and enjoyed our stay in spite of not having time to
stay longer. (We had a flight scheduled out of Brescia the next morning
to get to London.) Ever since we have received a nice Christmas
greeting from them each year as well as other e-mail greetings from time
to time. Gargnano is a few miles above Sirmione on the west side of the
lake and the lake ferries stop there. We stayed a few years ago at
Torri dei Benaco on the east side of the lake almost directly across
from Gargnano and rode the ferry across one afternoon. I'm sure the
same ferry must go on down to Sirmione too.

Maybe this will be of some help to you. You could e-mail this hotel and
maybe ask if the other Lake Garda hotels are all closed in the
winter!!! Charlotte Sprawls
