We also took the bus from Praiano (between Positano and Amalfi ) to Ravello.  Ravello is absolutely breathtaking.  We weren't scared on the bus at all but that could be because it was loaded with people and you couldn't see too much out the windows!  We did come to a complete stop somewhere on the mountain coming down for about an hour....we never did find out what the problem was.  Call me crazy, but I would never drive the coast.....the busses are for me:)
