We have a GSM phone and always purchase our SIM at www.brightroam.com.
  Incoming calls are free and the out going per minute charges are reasonable. You can also purchase a phone for about $70 I think. Their customer service is great. When we had a problem getting a signal in Rome a few months ago they called us back three times in following days to be certain all was well. It was.

need immediate charge, for $25. The rate is the same for local 
in-Switzerland calls. Does anyone have any experience with TravelTele??

A third choice is from http://www.ekit.com They also sell a prepaid 
SIM service. Their calling rates are higher than TravelTele but lower 
than MOBAL. These cards are also available on eBay. Does anyone have 
any experience with eKit??
