Before I went to Ireland last October I called T  Mobile and asked if my cell phone could be used overseas.  They said I had the right model.  While there my daughter called home to Minnesota about three or four times and we also called ahead to B & Bs to make reservations a lot.  It cost about $40.  When I went to China in November my cell phone notified me that I could make calls there although I never found it necessary.  It was so convenient because I did not have to switch phones when I got home and had to call from the airport.
