We also purchased one before our Untour in Northern Tuscany.  It worked just fine.  We used it often in Italy and total calls ended up costing us about $35.00.  We also referred our daughter as a customer so now she and we get a discount on our air minute cost.  We appreciate having an international phone number that will be ours for future travel.
