We were in Seville a couple of years ago. Maria arranged for a private
guide for us and it was well worth it. We had a wonderful walking tour. She
also directed us to a travel agent who booked a room for us in a lovely hotel.
(Just watch those marble floors in the bathrooms when they get wet.) We
only stayed one night and wished we had stayed two. We went to the Flamenco
show...what fun that was and crossed the river into the area where they make the
gorgeous tiles and also the home of the Flamenco schools. We parked the car
at the hotel and walked the whole time we were there.
The cathedral is a marvel but it gives you a hint as to why Islam doesn't
care too much for us Christians. I can't blame them. It had been a mosque and
the Church took it over.
Madrid was also great. Dodge booked us into a wonderful hotel on a plaza.
I don't remember the name but I'm sure he will. All the life that goes on in
the plaza is worth the extra money. The music, the restaurants, etc are at
your feet.
The art museum are fabulous! There are many and all have paintings you have
always heard about and now you can see them. We found Madrid easy to walk,
didn't have a car, didn't want a car. The Spaniards were all wonderful to us
and the food mouthwatering. You have to walk so you can eat.
Talking about this makes me want to go again.
Vaya con Dios, amigo,
