Hi Paula,

     We were in Prague and Berlin last fall.  In Prague we stayed at the Hotel Metamorphis(web: metamorphis.cz, e-mail: hotel at metamorphis.cz). It is a small hotel newly renovated, and we had a great room.  But the best thing about it is the location.  It is perhaps 100 yards to the Old Town Square, and in walking distance of most of the Prague sights, restaurants, shopping etc.

     From Prague we took an Elbe River cruise tour, which ended up with a stay in Berlin.  The hotel  was the Melia Berlin,part of a chain,(web:solmelia.com e-mail: melia.berlin at solmelia.com) a new hotel which we liked a lot.  Again the location was excellent, on Friedrichstrasse, a main drag, and close to many of the Berlin sights.

     We don't know what your price range is, but we would put these in the moderate category.
