I can recommend the Hotel Art Nouveau, just off the KuDamm and near the Savignyplatz neighborhood. Email: info at hotelartnouveau.de Web: www.hotelartnouveau.de.  In 2004 I stayed in this pleasant, reasonably priced hotel for two nights. The staff at this family owned and operated place are friendly and helpful.  The original recommendation came to me from "Gemutlichkeit", a travel publication with excellent travel advice for the German speaking world.
