Thanks Russ for including Renee's email.

And thanks Renee for sharing your email. I keep going back to Venice because it is magic. And it's true, one cannot get lost . To sortof answer your Dalmatian query, no, but I took a delightful and interesting 2-hour train ride to Trieste last summer.

My guess is that the cruise line arranges for a specific number of gondolas and plans on packing them with the maximum number of passengers. There has to be an overall weight capacity for each gondola and the cruise line imposes the weight limit per passenger to assure staying within that overall capacity.BTW, you did not appear to copy the whole idyllchat group on your email. Since you asked a question, I am adding them to my reply.RussCanton, MI

I was there May 06. I saw no weight restrictions on gondolas. Take the vaporetto the length of canal and back. Do it over and over again to see the sights and change in light. Walk around forever. Just keep wandering and flowing with the magic. Revel in the quiet of the calles. I never got lost. Actually, I think it's impossible to get lost there. It is surreal. No place like it on this earth. Thanks for reminding me how much I adore Venice. Has anyone taken the ferry from there to the Dalmatian coast? Renee
