As a former New Yorker, I would say that is a good assessment. Also, the time on the subway could stretch to 40 minutes or
more, each way..Mary

I lived in the environs of NYC most of my life and worked there for a short time also. When we were all married, my parents moved to Gramercy Park(a lovely section of Manhattan) and lived there for 30 years. I don't think that anyone coming from anywhere to New York for the first time should be out in Williamsburg. I don't know what it is like,, but a first time visitor to the city should stay in Manhattan. It is easy to walk and the fun is in being in the heart of the city. I especially would not want to take the subway after an evening dining and/or going to the theatre. Michaela.
