[Idyllchat] Deruta ceramics

Frank,

We were in Deruta but I cannot comment on the best place or way to
purchase Majorica ceramics. The whole place seemed to be crawling
with ceramics places so someone more knowledgeable will have to
address that question.

On the ATM use, I can comment. In general, I have found that I could
withdraw my 24 hour limit from an ATM machine in Europe. As I recall,
my limit is $500 or $600 per 24 hours. I have encountered ATMs that
had a lower limit. I recall one instance where the limit was about
$200 USD equivalent. I simply made two consecutive withdrawals and
that worked. Since I do not have any ATM fee use on my card, that was
no problem for me to do. You will have to query the financial
institution that issued your ATM card as to their fees on
international use. I have never been charged a fee by a local bank
either in Europe. BTW, don't forget to inform your bank when you will
be out of the country and where. Otherwise, you could find your card
not working because of "suspicious" activity on it.

Every time I have observed the exchange rate at any of the currency
exchange places their exchange rates were not nearly as favorable as
I got using ATMs. When we were on our Untour in Umbria two years ago,
ATMs were easy to find. As I recall, the shopping center where you
will likely end up buying a lot of your groceries has an ATM machine.
