[Idyllchat] Train travel in Tuscany

As I recall, it was a bit of a hike (20 minutes?) from the Lucca
train station into the center of the old city. We only have carry on
bags so that wasn't too bad. I am sure there were taxis available, we
just didn't look. We were not staying in an Untour apartment, so
cannot speak to that.
As someone else pointed out on this thread, the Untour apartments in
northern Tuscany are not available for 2008. No one has reported the
reason that I have seen. I would presume it may be the lack of a
local contact person. I see that Right Vacation Rentals does offer
places in that area for 2008. Maybe there has been a strategy shift
on Untours part.
