Phil,

Carpe Diem, indeed. No need to justify this for us.  We all did this (in our case Untours in Tuscany) a year after our two girls, then single and also now married, were hit head-on by an 18-wheeler and lived to tell about it. It was a celebration of life. Looking forward to the day when we can do this with our three grandkids, all under three at the moment. Just a bit older than you guys but I'd better start jumping on this bike if I want to be around then.

I also always loved the line on W.C. Fields' tombstone: "On the whole, I'd rather be in Philadelphia."

Hope you thoroughly enjoy the trip.

    No I wouldn't.  We've got all the family we can afford, thanks.  No need to add to it.
    You know, it may sound like we are overly indulgent parents and grandparents, but this is a family trip that we have dreamed about ever since we took our son and daughter, both of them then single, to the Heartland back in 1993.
