I obtained some euros by advertising in our community newsletter.
Everyone who returns from Europe always has a few euros left,
especially coins, and they were glad to sell them to me at the Wall
Street posted rate. If you don't get a few ahead of time, use the ATM
machine at the airport, or at any bank. Our apartment was near
Buenconvento, which had a couple of banks with ATM machines. I use my
brokerage account ATM card because they refund ALL fees, which make
using ATMs the most affordable method of obtaining euros. Also,
primarily for international travel, I obtained a Capital-One credit
card because they do NOT charge a currency exchange fee for
processing foreign charges.
