There is no sense in my going through the delays, frustrations, etc.
that have been my fortune in several airports. It should be evident
to all that the personnel in security jobs are the lowest common
denominator. Most of these folks would not be hired to do any other
work in the public or private sectors. To say that most of them are
dumber than dirt would be kind. Remember, I didn't say that. This
condition MAY exist all the way to the top of TSA. They got burned
badly by 9/11 (bad metaphor, I know), and they only have tunnel
vision now.

The airports have a monopoly on air travel, and that is the service
you get with monopolies. If everyone refused to make connections
through, or use, a given airport for a week, things would start to
jump. That isn't going to happen because most of us enter into a
"herd" mentality when we travel.

Fix this? I don't see it happening.

If you took all the people who sleep on the job at their desks and
laid them end to end, they’d be a lot more comfortable.
