           We just returned from 2 weeks in Italy ( Amalfi coast, Rome and Venice ) and we took the trains a few times during our stay.  We could not get the senior citizen rate...only good for EU residents.  In any event, train travel is not very expensive.  We had a wonderful time...hope you do too.
