Hi,
 
We just returned from the Dutch Untour to Leiden.  The trains are very  user 
friendly, and the pass is a great thing to have.  To go to Luxembourg  and 
Belgium you will need to upgrade to a Benelux pass (I think it's about $31 a  
person to do this and needs to be done through Untours at the time you get your  
train pass).  We upgraded and went to Brussels and Brugge in Belgium and on  
to Luxembourg.  It is about a 2.5 hour trip to Brussels and the same onto  
Luxembourg.  The five hour trip back is a little long, but the trains are  
comfortable.
 
We used all eight days of our train passes which do not need to be used  
consecutively.
 
We did not use all of the bus passes as we walked from the train station to  
the apartment most of the time.  The bus passes are good all over Holland  (in 
cities other than Leiden), and we did use them.
