My husband, also think's' he can't live without peanut butter so we usually
pack a small jar in our luggage wherever we go, in case it isn't available.
This year, however, we forgot about it until our suitcases were closed and
secured with the plastic clip, so he stuck it in his carry-on--forgetting
that it would most certainly be confiscated going through security--and it
was.
Boo, hoo--but to our suprise and joy, we spotted a very small jar of Skippy
at a SPAR in Kuchl, Austria. The last time we were there--no peanut butter,
but in parts of Austria and Switzerland they now stock it--can't remember if
we saw it in Italy.

One other thing we always take from home is red pepper flakes for my pizza.
