The laptops were for making backup copies of our pictures, so those who did
not have enough memory cards could wipe them out and start fresh. I like to
have 2 copies of a picture before I clear a memory card. We took 6500
pictures that totaled 15Gb of memory/harddrive space. If we had run out of
drive space, one laptop had a CD-burner and one had a DVD burner, so we
could have burned a disk backup before clearing the memory cards. I was the
only one who didn't need to clear a memory card, but I had 2 4Gb cards. I
filled up one of them.

It was also great to do a daily review of the pictures on something larger
than a 2.5" screen. Pictures that you thought had come out flat, actually
looked much better on a real screen.

I didn't check my email until after the Untour when we were in Zurich with
an internet connection.
