Here I am in cold, gray Massachusetts for the holiday and I just can't resist getting into this topic. My favorite airport for overseas travel (we live in Naples, FL), is Atlanta. Once we are behind security at Fort Myers, all we have to do in Atlanta is to take the train to terminal E. Not so in Newark. You have to go back through security both coming and going. We landed in Newark in September from Zurich and it is a dirty airport (Continental). We are very familar with Newark because we have alot of family in the area. Continental's domestic terminal is new and clean. The time we flew from Zurich into Logan was another nightmare. In that situation we had to pick up our luggage, go outside and take a bus around the airport to Delta's domestic terminal. Now that there is a new Delta wing, maybe it is easier. Of course on that trip we had to fly into Cincinnati and then down to Ft. Myers. Very long trip.

If I lived north of New Haven, CT., I would be tempted to fly out of Logan rather than NYC. The traffic into JFK can be very bad - just getting over the Whitestone bridge can be an adventure. Now that the Big Dig in Boston is winding up, getting to Logan is a snap coming from the west. As for the train into Newark airport, don't forget that you have to change in Newark proper first. Than can mean alot of lugging bags, even tho we pack lighter and lighter each year.

I think I covered everything; wish us luck on Saturday when we leave Logan on Jet Blue for the sunny South.

Michaela
