Speaking of credit cards, I had an interesting experience at Dublin Airport when my daughter and I went to rent a car. We were told we had to take the insurance even though my daughter's bank assured her that her Visa card covered the insurance. Well, there was no arguing with the agent and we were almost ready to pay 20 Euros extra for the nine days of rental. Then he mentioned that only Master Card and Diners Club allowed the insurance to be waived. I pulled out my Master Card and he pointed out that it had the word World printed on it. That saved us almost $300. Later my daughter talked to Visa and they told her that her bank was wrong. We also carefully checked out the car before we left. Of course, when we dropped it off they claimed damage to something but we had it all written down on our receipt. We did not get charged. I bet they make a bit of money from people who don't have time to argue because they are catching a flight. Luckily we dropped a day early. The name of the company was Irish Rental which appeared as Sixtus on my Master Card bill.
