Somebody on this list will know where to send you for pizza, but I do have a
Chicago pizza story of sorts: The first time I ever heard of pizza was when
home (to a Chicago suburb at the time) from college at Christmas break my
freshman year in 1952. Some of my buddies said "Let's go get pizza." I said,
"What's pizza?" They said "That new Italian food." (Obviously it had been in
Italian neighborhoods in many cities for some years before that!)
But yes, you can connect from either Chicago airport to the "L" system.
O'Hare is the Blue Line that goes through a subway down Dearborn Street under The
Loop. Midway is the Orange Line that loops around The Loop. There are
various ways to connect to other L lines and to the city bus system. See:

Unfortunately none of these come within a block of the downtown railroad
stations that Amtrak uses, but there is a short shuttle-bus connection from
O'Hare's "People Mover" to the suburban train network into Union Station. Ten daily
