Ever since living in Denmark for a year, I have
bemoaned the lack of integrated transportation in
this country. From where we lived near
Helsingør, I could take a bus or a local train to
Helsingør and the train to Copenhagen. And now
the train runs from Copenhagen airport and on the
Malmö, Sweden. Living without a car that year
was quite easy. Not so in western North America.
Here modes of transportation are usually seen as
competitors, so easy connections from plane to
train or bus or from bus to train are the
exception rather than the rule.
