[Idyllchat] airport

Public Transportation is what is missing from the New York airports.
If you live on Long Island or in New Jersey it is possible. LIRR to Jamaica
and switch to the AirTrain for JFK or all the way to Penn Station, then a
connection to Newark's AirTrain station. Reverse it if you live in New
Jersey. Unfortunately, you can't easily get to Penn Station from the North.
You have to take Amtrak which will cost you almost as much as your flight
:-)
The MTA is building the "East Side" access which will connect the LIRR to
Grand Central. When that happens, we'll be able to get to Jamaica and the
AirTrain terminal from the Northern Burbs. Unfortunately, that's still a
couple of years away.
Another thing I wish they did was link JFK and LaGuardia with the AirTrain.
As it stands, it goes nearly half way there. They should have just kept
going. But that's my own personal rant. Having flown into airports like
Zurich and Amsterdam's Schiphol where there are train stations right in the
airport, I wish we had that convenience in New York. Long term parking is
brutal here.
