  Joan:
Thanks for the information. I've added the site to my list. Now I have a site for you, if you aren't already aware of it :

  www.dpreview.com

This site has, among other things, detailed reviews of cameras. When I am considering buying a new camera, I check for a review here. At the end of the review under "conclusion", they give the pros and cons as well as a final rating like Recommended, Highly Recommended. But what I really like is the Discussion Forum, which is broken down into categories like Beginners Questions, Nikon Talk, Canon talk. I have periodically posted questions on this site like " Are generic batteries just as good as the more expensive brand name batteries?".

  Another good photography site is:

   www.steves-digicams.com/

Beside camera reviews, this site even includes info on equipment like photo printers, batteries, chargers, memory cards, portable memory storage, etc. Sites like these are great to refer to BEFORE buying a camera, equipment, etc.

Bill Kover's last message reminded me about a website source for camera batteries (and other items). http://www.eastcoastphoto.com/ that I wanted to share with Untourists.

Before leaving for Swizerland this year I purchased a pocket size Nikon camera at the last minute. The camera uses the new tiny battery cards (Li-ion battery)--whatever happened to the bunny! The good news is that the battery charger is also smaller and lighter. I priced the batteries at the usual places, and they were expensive.

So, I tried my GadetFreek source and they came up with East Coast Photo. Understanding my short lead time, East Coast mailed them the same day. From East to West only 2 days. Even with small shipping cost the batteries were cheaper.

I didn't get my second 2GB card until we got to Zermatt and I got nervous. Purchased a card at a camera store for slightly less than US prices--couldn't believe it. Hope you find this site useful. Cheers. Joan.
