[Idyllchat] An Excellent Hike (and more)

Glorioski! A little sports talk this morning, and some excellent CH hiking
tips. Thanks Dick and Jerry.

50% of our household was pleased with the result of the play-offs and World
Series . Bruce is a die-hard Boston fan. The Yankeees have always been my
team (named my cats Whitey Ford I, II, III, etc.). Think now they would be
"Derek". From my outpost at the Giants AT&T Park, I pulled for the Yankees
and Indians all season. However, when the Rockies made their sensational
stretch run, I defected and turned my attention to that fine young club.
And, as 49ers fans (not easy these days) we were delighted that the Raider
fans bailed out so we can see the Pat/Indy game tomorrow. We are just
getting ready to leave for the Cal game on a glorious autumn day(playing
Washington State Cougs). Cal was number one for about an hour three games
ago. Now, after three losses in a row, we are hoping to salvage the season.
We just returned from a week watching Arizona Fall League baseball. There
are six teams, made up of AL & NL top prospects. They play during the
series, and beyond, for six weeks. Fun to kibbitz with the scouts and look
for the latest Pujols, Garciaparra, etc. Some of the players who played in
this league last year played in the WS this year--amazing.

We'll definitely do the hike you recommend from Planplatten to Kaserstatt.
We are going in June/July this year. Generally we go a month earlier and
the high walks are not open. We enjoy the Rothorn train trip as well. Glad
you described the Schonbuel trek, as I have always been curious. Cheers.
Joan.
