[Idyllchat] An Excellent Hike (and more)

Ah, hiking in CH!

Well, enough about CH. Let's get back to this glorious sports year in Boston, where I lived in the '60s and '70s and got hooked on the likes of Bird, McHale and Parish, not to mention Yaz, Orr, Vataha, Plunkett (before he was a good QB) and some kid named Flutie. I grew up as a youth going to Dodger games at Ebbets Field and remain a fan (go Torre) but in the AL Boston was my team. What Dodger fans and BoSox fans have in common is sheer hatred of the Yankees, so this has been a particularly triumphant year. Don't think there's a better sports town in all of the U.S. than Beantown.

Then we have the Pats. Oh, am I ever enjoying this season. It's not nice to embarrass Dr. Evil, as the press (SI) has characterized Belichick all week. He returns the insult by crushing you, all the while telling you what a tough game they are expecting (Jets beware). Regardless of the outcome, tomorrow's game should be a classic for the ages. For the Pats it's payback for last year's AFC game and Dungy's regrettable comments re spygate. As it turns out, I married a Hoosier and, wise woman that she is, she's leaving the house tomorrow afternoon.

Go Pats!

(With apologies for the diversion.)
