It took a while to convince this stubborn Norwegian about the 
benefits of a digital camera, but a good digital would be my first 
choice.  It offers so much flexibility in all ways.  Nothing more 
needs to be said.

Based on some earlier travel experience, I developed a camera 
formula.  Count the number of people in the travel group, add one 
more, and that's the number of cameras to take.  We have had 
accidents with cameras, had malfunctions, a camera left by accident 
on the train (it came back), and, worst, have had a camera stolen. 
In short, always travel with a back-up camera.  Whether it's another 
digital, a traditional film camera, or a throwaway makes no 
difference.
