[Idyllchat] Food

I've been busy so perhaps the 'chat' is ready to move on to a new subject,
but--one last thought about the Hotel Brunig Kulm in Brunig. Brian, even
though you admitted to confusing the Hotel Brunig Kulm with the Sylvana,
the Kulm IS a bit expensive, which is why we ate there only once on our last
trip--a special dinner out. However, although folks seem to absolutely rave
about the Bahnhof Restaurant in Lungern--and the food there IS very good,
you can't get much more expensive than it.

Another note concerning the price of food, about which I also commented
once before, is--it's a bit of a mystery that Switzerland and Austria, two
countries side by side, are so far apart in the cost of restaurant eating.

On every Untour in the Heartland we usually picnic for lunch--pausing on
a bench or rock during a hike--but we have breakfast plus nearly every
dinner at 'home' mainly because of the high cost of dining out.

However, on each of our 4-5 Austrian Untours (all in Kuchl) we ate
virtually all of our evening meals in local restaurants--finding them to be
unbelievably inexpensive.

I believe Vance is the one who gave me the explanation concerning
this--different economies etc--a couple of years ago, but I've since
forgotten his comments, so perhaps he will enlighten me and other
Idyllchatters again.
